There are two ways to manage your pictures and movies in OLYMPUS Viewer 3: Library View and Folder View

Library View is recommended for the following users:

-	Users who have large amounts of photo data on the computer and have difficulty organizing them.
-	Users who are not used to computers.

Folder View is recommended for the following users:

-	Users who are used to computers and organize their pictures on original folders.
-	Users who are currently using OLYMPUS Viewer 2 software.

Features of Library View

In Library view, the images that are imported from cameras or specific folders are saved and displayed as albums by shooting date.
You can also detect faces and display the images by people or you can display the images in timeline.
Even if the images are saved on your computer, the images are not displayed in albums ( Library View ) unless they are imported to the OLYMPUS Viewer 3.

You can select the following display in Library View:

[ Albums ]

• You can name each set of images and organize them as an album.
  The albums can also be named automatically with shooting date when the images are imported from the camera.

[ Photos ]

• The imported images are displayed in timeline.
  You can select the time period from ( display all images registered to the library ),
  ( display images from the previous 10 years ), ( display images from the previous 3 years ), ( display images from the previous year ) and ( select the time period ).

[ People ]

• You can detect the faces of people and display the images that include specific people. To display images by people, you must register people in advance.

Recent Action

The following items are displayed in the Recent Action:

• Last Import: The images that are imported most recently are displayed.
• Favorites: The images that are registered as favorites are displayed.
  
• Upload Order: The images that are registered for uploading by the camera are displayed.
  
• Importing: The progress of image transfer is displayed. *
  
• Selection A: The images that are registered for selection A are displayed. *
  
• Selection B: The images that are registered for selection B are displayed. *
  
• Upload Tasks: The progress of uploading to sharing services are displayed. *

* The items are displayed when the data is available. When the data is not available, the data is not displayed.

Device

The images on a connected camera or memory card are displayed.

Features of Folder View

The images on the folder are displayed if you select a folder that is saved on your computer.
When importing the images from the camera, you can automatically create a subfolder by shooting date. The function makes it easy for you to organize your images. Different from the Library View, you can also display the images that are not imported to the OLYMPUS Viewer 3 by selecting a folder.
Photos ( timeline display ) or People ( register detected faces ) in Library View is not available in Folder View.

You can select the following display in Folder View:

[ Folder Tree ]

• The hierarchy of folders on the computer are displayed.
  If you click on a folder, the images are displayed.

[ Shortcut ]

• You can create a shortcut of folders.
  The Shortcut function is convenient because it enables you to quickly move to the frequently used folder.
  * The created shortcut can also be viewed in Library View.
