What does a Neutral Density ( ND ) filter do?

If you turn on the Neutral Density filter function, you can block the amount of light by changing the shutter speed or aperture value to 3 steps using the built-in Neutral Density filter.

The Neutral Density filter will be effective when you shoot pictures with blurred background by opening the aperture of the camera in extremely bright conditions. You can also express the streams of water with the slow shutter speed.

For example, if you set the Neutral Density filter in an environment that takes pictures with 1/250 shutter speed, you can take pictures with 1/30 shutter speed without changing the aperture value. ( The brightness of your image will be left unchanged ).

The Neutral Density filter can be set to On or Off in the live control.

1. Press the button to display the live control. Use the to select the ND filter.
2. Use to select ND Filter On, and then push the button.

How do I take a picture that is compiled and layered with multiple pictures? [ Multi Exposure ]

Answer:
The Multiple Exposure Mode allows you to combine two frames of images and save as a single frame.
For taking pictures with multiple exposure, select Multi. Exposure in SCN ( scene mode ).

How to take pictures with Multiple Exposure Mode:

1. Take the first image that will be the base of the combined picture. The image will be saved and displayed in the background.
   If you would like to shoot the first image again, press the [ MENU ] button and press the shutter button again.
2. With the first frame in the background, position the camera for the second frame and press the shutter button.
   The two images are combined and saved to the memory card.

How do I take pictures without the AF illuminator?

Answer:
When taking pictures in low light situations where auto focus is difficult, the AF illuminator on the front of the camera emits red light when the shutter button is pressed halfway down, to assist the camera focus.



The default AF illuminator setting is On. For taking pictures without this function, set the AF illuminator to Off in the menu setting.
