AF Target Mode
To select the autofocus area
Choose the size and number of the AF targets that show the area on which the camera focuses. You can set options such as a single target (one point), a target group (3x3, 5x5, etc.), or all targets, which covers almost the entire picture.
Single Target makes it easier to focus on the target position. If you are unable to keep the AF target positioned when tracking a moving subject with continuous AF [C-AF], the camera may focus on the background and you may lose sight of the subject. In these cases, it is effective to set a target group to widen the autofocus area.
Choose [Single Target] for subjects that are easy to track, [Target Group] for more elusive subjects.

Track with a single target
Track with a target group During shooting, the AF target frame for the area in focus will light.
